“There is more to life than simply increasing its speed.” ― Mahatma Gandhi

If these three lock-downs and COVID -19 has taught us anything it’s that we don’t need to rush around increasing our speed in life; Working faster and harder. Running the kids around. Jumping from work to friends to family plus doing the house up and going out, how did we do it all?

Well, we did, but at a price. A price to our bodies, minds and relationships.

So many of my clients are now saying that they have noticed they don’t want that old life anymore, they are enjoying the simple and quiet life. They are not saying they wouldn’t see people or go out; they are not saying they are not going to work hard, just that the speed is going to slow down. They are going to find a more balanced life.

It’s like a pendulum that was off balance, before COVID we were over one side to much, running around, speeding up every day on the treadmill.  Then everything stopped, the pendulum was thrown to the opposite side (still off balance). Life slowed down for us and it was a shock but in time we got use to it. We may not have liked it all, but we were shown that things could be different.

How do you want your life, work or business to be?

As people are getting their vaccinations and life will start to slowly come back, how do you want your life, work or business to be?

Do you want to go straight back to how it was?

Do you want to stay how it is now?

Or Do you want to find a balance between the two?

Now is the time to start looking at how we want things to be as life goes back.

Take a look at what you miss from your life before

Take a look at what you have learnt and gained in the lock-downs

Bring the two together to find your balance and create your resiliance to things that occur in life.

Will it be easy?

For some it will, but for most of us we will struggle a little to keep the balance or new way of life. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it; it just means we need to be self-aware. We need to stop and check in to see if we’ve gone off balance, has the pendulum gone too far the other side?

Allow the pendulum to swing from side to side in the middle area, allow it to flow with what’s happening in life. Staying in the middle allows you to keep the life you want, the one that works for you.
